Galeries Lafayette

Galleries Lafayette is one of the most traditional Paris shopping stops. It's a huge department store with two adjacent buildings located in the 9th arrondissement. Mark my words when I say traditional: Its glass and steel dome, and Art Nouveau staircases were built in 1912.

Of course, being almost 100 years old does not dictate one to be a dinosour. Just take a look at the photos and videos from the Galeries Lafayette Chistmas Parade of 2011... Apparently, one can always be nearly-medival and stunning at the same time.
