Louvre

The breath-taking Louvre. It cannot be skipped, sorry. You always can pass, of course, and rather have  Choucroute Garnie and a bottle of Château Margaux in a chic street brasserie in stead; but if you are at it, keep in mind that Louvre is a big experience in its own right that'll make you feel bad if you go about doing something else in the few hours you steal from it.

The setting, first of all, sets it apart. The moment you are in the garden - let alone setting foot in the profound construction just yet - it's like you've jumped in time and have become a castle-inhabitant somewhere in medival France.
By the way, dusk might just be the best time of day to visit Louvre. (Make sure it's one of the weekdays when the doors are open for longer hours, though - you don't want to run around with your tounge out just to get your sufficient art fix for the day... note that I'm not saying "entire".)

Watch out. You actually might pass Mona Lisa by.
